MICHAEL MOORE'S WEEK AHEAD MONDAY 14 - FRIDAY 18 JANUARY 200812.00.00am GMT Fri 11th Jan 2008 Here are some highlights of what I will be doing this week: "On Monday morning I will be meeting the Ambassador of Azerbaijan before a high-level meeting with the Chairman and new Chief Executive of Digital UK, the organisation responsible for the digital switchover process. The new Chief Executive, David Scott, takes up his post in February. In the afternoon I have a meeting with my parliamentary researcher before the weekly meeting of the Liberal Democrat International Affairs team. On Tuesday morning I will attend the Liberal Democrat Shadow Cabinet before meeting the new Leader of the Liberal Democrats' sister party in South Africa, the Democratic Alliance. I will then be meeting the Director of BBC Global News before a conference call with my Scottish Parliament and Council colleagues. Late afternoon I will attend a briefing on the situation in Burma given by the BBC World Service. On Wednesday morning I will attend a meeting of the Atlantic Partnership to hear an address by the Foreign Secretary. I will then be in the Chamber for Prime Minister's Questions at noon, before the weekly meeting of the Scottish Liberal Democrat parliamentary team and then the full Liberal Democrat parliamentary party. In the evening I will attend a Veterans Day reception to hear about the plans for celebrating the occasion, which is on 27 June 2008. I believe that much more should be done to recognise the sacrifices made by our veterans and have been promoting the Veterans Badge, encouraging all our local veterans to apply for the badge as a mark of honour. On Thursday morning I have a series of regular meetings with my office staff before a meeting with the Director of the Royal Institute for International Affairs, Chatham House. I will then be chairing a meeting of the Liberal Democrat International Development team before travelling back home to the Borders in the afternoon. On Friday morning I will be visiting Melrose Primary School to talk to the P6 and P7 pupils about my work as a Member of Parliament. My surgeries this week will be in Kelso at the Abbey Row Centre between 3pm and 4pm, and then in Jedburgh at the Town Hall between 4.30pm and 5.30pm. In the evening I will chair a meeting of the A7 Action Group in Stow."
