MICHAEL MOORE'S WEEK AHEAD MONDAY 4 - FRIDAY 8 FEBRUARY 2008

7.10.56pm GMT Fri 1st Feb 2008

Here are some highlights of my week:

"On Monday morning I will be chairing the Borders Forum on Competitiveness before a meeting with Scottish Enterprise Borders at Ettrick Riverside to discuss the support that is being given to employees who are facing redundancy in the Borders. I will then be meeting the Head of Planning and Economic Development at Scottish Borders Council to discuss the work that is being done to support our local high streets. In the afternoon I will be travelling down to Westminster.

On Tuesday morning I will attend the Liberal Democrat Shadow Cabinet before a meeting with the German Ambassador, followed by a meeting of the Advisory Board of the John Smith Memorial Trust, of which I am a member.

On Wednesday morning I will be attending a speech given by the Secretary of State for International Development at the Foreign Policy Centre. I will then be in the chamber for Prime Minister's Questions, before attending a reception to honour the winners of the Countryside Alliance best rural retailer awards in the House of Lords. Later in the afternoon I will be meeting with my Scottish Liberal Democrat parliamentary colleagues before the weekly meeting of the Liberal Democrat parliamentary party.

On Thursday morning I have a series of regular meetings with my office staff before travelling back home to the Borders in the afternoon.

On Friday morning I will be chairing the sixth meeting of the Borders Digital Forum, at which the future of regional programming will be debated by local producer and broadcaster Alistair Moffat, Head of Content at Ofcom Kate Stross, and Managing Director of ITV Border Paddy Merrall. My surgeries this week will be in the Volunteer Hall in Duns between 3pm and 4pm and in the Community Centre in Eyemouth between 4.30pm and 5.30pm.

On Saturday morning I will attend the official opening of Home Basics' new unit at the Weensland Mill in Hawick."
