MICHAEL MOORE'S WEEK AHEAD

9.23.40am BST (GMT +0100) Mon 31st Mar 2008

MONDAY 31 MARCH - FRIDAY 4 APRIL 2008

Here are a few highlights of what I will be doing this week:

"On Monday morning I will be attending the official opening of "Hear to Help Borders", a new project which aims to develop and improve services for all deaf and hard of hearing people. Later on I will be travelling down to Westminster for the start of the parliamentary week.

On Tuesday morning I will be speaking in a Westminster Hall debate on the situation in Darfur in my role as Liberal Democrat Shadow Secretary of State for International Development. I then have a series of individual meetings with my Scottish parliamentary colleagues before meeting with the Director of Law Reform at the Law Society of Scotland, Michael Clancy, to discuss the Constitutional Commission for Scotland.

On Wednesday morning I have a conference call with my colleagues before attending Prime Minister's Questions in the chamber at noon. In the afternoon I will attend a briefing on Freesat to learn more about the new BBC/ITV/Channel 4 satellite service in advance of its launch. This may offer an alternative for viewers in the Borders who cannot receive digital terrestrial television as we head towards switchover. I will then chair a meeting of the Liberal Democrat Scottish Parliamentary Party followed by the full Parliamentary Party meeting.

On Thursday morning I have a series of regular meetings with my team before travelling back home to the Borders in the afternoon.

On Friday morning I have a meeting with officials to discuss the agenda for the Borders Forum on Competitiveness before attending the launch of the local initiative in Selkirk to rid the town of plastic bags. My surgeries this week will be at the Abbey Row Centre in Kelso between 3pm and 4pm and then at the Town Hall in Jedburgh between 4.30pm and 5.30pm."
