Jeremy's week ahead3.13.14pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 29th Apr 2008 Week beginning 28 April 2008 On Monday morning Jeremy will be attending a meeting concerning the proposed chicken farm at Easter Happrew. Jeremy will then be meeting with the chairman of Penicuik Community Council to discuss litter in Penicuik. In the afternoon he will be interviewed for the Catholic Church newsletter and will be discussing the ideal of Physician Assisted Suicide among other issues. On Tuesday morning Jeremy will be holding a meeting with representatives from The Church of Scotland and Society Council to discuss higher and further educational issues and resources and training for Chaplains. He will then be meeting with a representative from Barnardos to discuss the Barnardos Index. In the evening Jeremy will be chairing a public meeting in Peebles which will discuss the campaign against the use of plastic bags in the Borders. On Wednesday Jeremy will be in the Education, Lifelong Learning and Culture Committee. Jeremy will then be having an informal meeting with a representative from BBC Scotland and will be discussing education in Scotland. He will then be in the chamber for the Ministerial Statement on Implementing the Vulnerable Witnesses (Scotland) Act followed by Stage 3 Proceedings of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games Bill. In the evening Jeremy will be attending the Scottish Pre-school Play Association (SPPA) Parliamentary Reception. The SPPA is Scotland's largest voluntary sector provider of direct support services to community led providers of pre-school education and childcare services. On Thursday morning Jeremy will be in the chamber for the Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party Debate on Housing followed by Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party Debate concerning Food Security. Jeremy will then be hosting a meeting for the Headteachers' Association of Scotland, where Headteachers' and MSPs will discuss topics such as Efficiency Savings and Skills for Work. He will then be in the chamber for the Scottish Government Debate on Impact of the UK Budget on Scotland. On Friday Jeremy will be holding a meeting with a representative from Scottish Borders Housing Association for an update. He will then be visiting Jewel and Esk College for a tour and update. Jeremy will then be holding his regular surgery in Selkirk Victoria Hall from 4.30-6pm. All constituents are welcome to drop in at any points between those times.
