Here are some highlights of what I will be doing this week:

"On Monday morning I will be travelling down to Westminster for the start of the parliamentary week. In the afternoon I will be speaking at a conference organised by Chatham House (the Royal Institute of International Affairs). Later on I will attend the Liberal Democrat International Affairs team in my role as International Development spokesman for the party. In the evening there will be crucial votes on the Finance Bill.

"On Tuesday morning I will attend Liberal Democrat Shadow Cabinet followed by a meeting with representatives of UNICEF, the United Nations Children's Fund. I will then have a series of regular meetings with my parliamentary colleagues.

"On Wednesday morning I will be in the Chamber for International Development Questions before Prime Minister's Questions at noon. In the afternoon I have a meeting with the International Director of World Vision UK followed by a meeting with the Commonwealth Development Corporation, which supports businesses in the developing world. Later on I will attend a briefing by the Scottish Arts Council.

"On Thursday morning I have a series of meetings with my staff before speaking in a Westminster Hall debate in the afternoon on the subject of water and sanitation in the developing world. I will travel back home to the Borders later that evening.

"On Friday I have a meeting with the Chief Executive of SBHA before my surgeries in the afternoon, which will be in the Town Hall in Jedburgh between 3pm and 4pm and in the Abbey Row Centre in Kelso between 4.30pm and 5.30pm."
