MOORE CONGRATULATES STAFF AT RADIO BORDERS ON LANDMARK ANNIVERSARY12.00.00am GMT Fri 22nd Jan 2010 Local MP Michael Moore has offered staff at Radio Borders his congratulations after the station celebrated its 20 year anniversary this week. Based in Tweedbank, the station came on air on 22 January 1990 and serves all of the Borders and parts of North Northumberland. In 1991 and 1994, Radio Borders won the Sony 'Local Station of the Year' award and the station remains one of the most popular regional broadcasters in the country. Commenting, Mr Moore said: 'After it was launched two decades ago, Radio Borders quickly became a vital source of local information and entertainment for people from all over the south of Scotland and it is no surprise that the station has continued to go from strength to strength. 'I would like to offer all the staff at Radio Borders my congratulations at reaching this important landmark. I look forward to many more hours of happy listening in years to come.'
