Jock HoustonFocus on renewables
Jock was born in New South Wales, Australia and is married with four grown up children and one grandson. He was a History Teacher at Hawick High School for the period 1966-2002. Jock was the Secretary of the Educational Institute of Scotland in the Borders from 1979 until -2002 and has been the Treasurer of St Cuthbert's Scottish Episcopal Church, where he is currently the Trustees' Warden. He was first elected to represent Alewater, Denholm and District May 2003 and serves as a Member of the Eildon , Teviotdale and Cheviot Area Committees. Jock is especially interested in high standards of building / design and in renewable energy and is a member of the main Planning Committee. He is a member of the ` Climate Change and Environment Working Group ` and of ` How the Council Consults ` working party. Jock is a very strong supporter of small schools, especially in our rural areas.In his spare time he enjoys watching Rugby, walking and cycling in the beautiful Borders countryside.
